State Playoff Preview: Girls Soccer

The Lady Indians are on the heels of a win against Rabun County that netted the girls program its first-ever region title. That means home field through the first two games should they win the first one. TFS is ranked #6 in the state, and have been as high as #5. The 10-4 record to date marks a third consecutive 10-win season. Last year, the 12-win Lady Indians advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time.

TFS has outscored opponents 49-39 this season, doing whatever it takes to get the win. Three times the Lady Indians have won in overtime, and two of the four losses were by a single goal. Senior Jenna Chesser leads the team with 18 goals, while freshman LB Kafsky (14 G, 9 A) has been stellar all season long.

The veteran team has had several standout players, including seniors Maddie LeBlanc (4 G, 3 A) and Tessa Foor (3 G, 2 A), along with sophomore Bailey Crumley (3 G, 7 A), and All-State junior defender Josie Chesser (2 G, 1 A). Senior keeper Kyndal Anderson, who holds the most career shutouts with 18, has 109 saves so far this season.

The girls will be countered by 4-seed Prince Avenue Christian, a 2-10-1 team that has been outscored by opponents 32-14 this year.
