MS girls finish as Tri-State Runner-Up

A young Tallulah Falls MS team defied the narrative in the conference that the lack of experience would prevent them from playing for the championship.

The girls took on Summit Charter on Friday, dropping the match 10-1. It was 6-0 at the half. The goal came from Ida Patterson off an assist by Betsey Orr. The Lady Indians refused to give up and fought to the last second.

"We played aggressively and really had some good scoring chances in both halves," says coach Laura Higbie. "Coach Agnor and I knew going into the this match that we were playing an undefeated team that had not been scored on all season. We had a game plan to not give up, to stay aggressive, and to stay level-headed, even though we knew the Summit crowd and all the odds would be against us. The fact that we scored a goal against a team in that type of environment to me was a win in our book. They were not expecting it and that made it all that much sweeter. The entire team did not quit, and we are proud of the season we’ve had. What a fantastic group of girls! Looking forward to a fun team party on Monday. Very proud of how TFS always shows class, and I am incredibly proud of our second place finish."

Tallulah Falls ends the season at 5-7 overall.
