Season Recap: MS Girls Soccer

After an undefeated 2023 season in which the Lady Indians turned over nearly all of their top playmakers, 2024 had the look of being a rebuilding year. And it was, though the MS girls came along quickly and ran all the way to the Tri-State Championship game. Coach Laura Higbie's group is developing ahead of schedule, and showed determination and grit throughout the season.

After starting out 0-3 and being outscored 18-1, most teams would have resigned to the fact that they just weren't competitive. Tallulah Falls refused to give in, and secured a momentum-grabbing 4-1 win over Rabun Gap to get in the win column. From there, they notched another pair of wins over the next handful of games. After another win over Highlands, TFS was 4-6 on the season heading into the Tri-State tournament.

Once in the tournament, the girls were pitted against Rabun Gap in the semifinals at home. Tallulah prevailed 1-0, securing a berth in the Tri-State title match against Summit Charter. Despite losing on the road, the Lady Indians became the first to score on them all season. TFS finised at 5-7 overall. Ida Patterson (5 G, 1 A), Nora Mitchell (4 G, 2 A), and Erin Sweat (3 G) were the leading goal-scorers. Patterson, Emma Ivester, Stella Radford (2 A), and Sofia Alderfer will move to the high school level, while Sweat, Betsey Orr (1 G, 3 A), Michell, and others will return to bolster the team.
