Caden Walker signs LOI with Union University

Tallulah Falls standout senior baseball player Caden Walker has signed his LOI with Union University to continue his academic and baseball career.

Walker will trade his green and gold for the red and black of the Bulldogs in his move to Jackson, Tennessee.

“Union offers a unique environment that provides both academic and athletic opportunities,” says Walker. “It's a place where I can further my Christian beliefs, education, develop my skills, and compete at a higher level. Additionally, the academic aspect of college can provide a foundation for future career pursuits, offering a well-rounded experience that will prepare me for success both on and off the field.”

Walker had a breakout season on the diamond for the history-making Indians, who rolled to their first-ever State Championship game appearance. Walker hit .327 with two homeruns and 15 RBI, scoring 33 runs while adding four doubles, 15 walks, a school record 22 hit by pitch, and swiping 26 stolen bases. He registered a .511 OBP and .940 SLG. The opportunity to play at the next level is a dream come true for Walker.

“It was definitely a journey and I could not have done it without God, so I give Him all the Glory,” says Walker. “Hailing from Nassau, Bahamas, and starting my baseball journey at Edison Armbrister Academy at the age of eight, I've been shaped into the person I am today. Coach Butler and Coach Manson set the way for me and played pivotal roles in not just teaching me baseball skills, but also instilling invaluable life lessons and fostering my spiritual growth in Christianity. So I really appreciate them for seeing something good in me and taking the time out of their busy days to coach me. Moreover, Coach Butler and Coach Manson introduced me to Tallulah Falls, where I found not only better educational prospects but also opportunities to excel in baseball. I've played under Coach [Justin] Pollock's mentorship for three years — he is a realist and I underwent significant personal and athletic development. His emphasis on accountability, both on and off the field, prepared me for the demands of playing at the next level. I'm forever grateful for the sacrifices my parents made for me by sending me off away from them to get better opportunities. I would also like to thank Coach McGehee and the coaching staff, who have provided me with this remarkable opportunity for growth and achievement. The opportunity to play at the next level is incredibly exciting and fulfilling. Thus, my years of dedication and hard work, along with my parent’s sacrifices have paid off and opened doors to new challenges.”

Walker becomes the tenth TFS student-athlete to sign an LOI this academic year. He is the 13th baseball player from TFS all-time to go on to the next level. Walker will be honored with all other senior signees on May 23 at the second annual Next Level Signing Ceremony.
