TFS celebrates lower and middle school award winners

 
 

The morning of Tuesday, May 21 marked the end of the 2023-24 academic year for Tallulah Falls School lower and middle school students, faculty/staff, family and friends.

President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy, Dean of Students Jimmy Franklin, and Lower/Middle School Academic Dean Carol Madden recognized all presidential scholars before presenting individual awards. 

A student earns a position on the Presidential Scholar List by maintaining a 4.0-grade point average, having no major discipline issues and by accruing fewer than 15 demerits for each semester and fewer than 30 demerits for the academic year.

Honors and awards were presented as follows:

Elizabeth Kyle presented the Citizenship Awards to Atlas Zheng, fourth grade, and Parker Bryant, fifth grade.  

Kyle also presented the Daughters of the American Revolution Award to Emme Wagner, sixth grade, Fenn NeSmith, seventh grade, and Stella Rose Bowman, eighth grade.

Jo Kimbrel presented Reilly Cox with the Scholar Athlete Award, Catherine Harris and Lucas Woodland with the TFS Great Character Award, Ida Patterson and Brantley Addison with the Indian of the Year Award, and Sofia Alderfer and Max Pulliam with the PE Student of the Year Award.

Glenda Franklin presented Linda White with the Music Student of the Year award, Carrie Layer presented Sam Belk with the Drama Student of the Year Award, Cat Schappach presented Ellie Shaw with the Art Student of the Year Award, and Stephanie Dorantes presented Dylan Johnson with the Media Production Award and Rachel McDowell with the Graphic Design Award.

Outstanding Students of the Year were recognized as follows: 

Jase Cox, fourth grade; Liam Wright, fifth grade; West Ridlehoover, sixth grade; Quinlan Flanders, seventh grade; and Stella Radford, eighth grade.
