Alumni Success Story: Brinson Hall '21

Graduating with a B.S. in Economics and a minor in International Relations at Troy University, in Alabama, alumna Brinson Hall (’21) has her sights set on a future in governmental affairs in Washington, D.C. But her college journey has been shaped by much more than academics—it’s also been about finding her place, building lifelong friendships, and representing her school on the golf course.

“When you go to college, everyone is just looking for a group,” she explained. “I didn’t know a soul when I arrived at Troy, so being thrust into a team of girls who were passionate about the same thing was a gift.”

Golf quickly became more than a sport for her—it became a platform. She was nominated to represent the Troy University golf team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and later spoke on behalf of the school at the Sun Belt Conference. “That was big for me,” she reflected. “It helped solidify my passion for problem-solving and connecting with people across the country.”

One of her greatest highlights was competing against Clemson University. “That’s right around where I grew up,” she said. “Playing on such a big stage as a Division I athlete, with my Troy family and my Georgia family all there—it was a dream come true.”

Her journey in golf began long before Troy, playing alongside close friends and teammates since the sixth grade. “We pushed each other constantly,” she shared. “Even though we were competing, we were always there for one another. Not all friends get to go through the recruiting process together—we did. We all went Division I, and we still get to compete against each other today. I’m extremely grateful to God for that gift.”
