Thank you for visiting with us. Tallulah Falls School is an independent, coeducational boarding and day school serving approximately 550 students.
We enroll day students in grades four to 12 and boarding students in grades seven to 12. We have multiple unique opportunities for our students on our breathtaking 500-acre mountain campus.
Our mission is to create a strong intellectual foundation for our students and to help them develop positive character traits. We build that foundation with an extensive college preparatory curriculum, which includes 21 on-campus dual enrollment college classes available to our juniors and seniors. We also have created a culture where students serve, show empathy, and embrace each other in a way that always strives to make a difference. When people walk through our doors, they recognize something different about our students. We are preparing leaders with good character who can make decisions without having to think about them.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in outdoor adventures throughout each academic year. Our campus is located in one of the United States' most desirable destinations, which gives students access to miles of hiking trails, camping, fishing, boating, snow skiing, biking, kayaking, and exploring in nature, especially Tallulah Gorge State Park, which borders our campus.
In an effort to continue developing the whole student, Tallulah Falls School expects students to benefit from learning opportunities both within and outside of the classroom. Our lower and middle school students take multiple interactive and educational field trips.
Our upper school students participate in our yearly Mid-mester experience - a week-long experiential learning opportunity designed for each grade. This past year included the following trips. We are currently in the planning process for next year’s trips.
Our freshmen travel to the Florida Space Coast, visiting historical Saint Augustine and the Kennedy Space Center. There, they have the opportunity to eat lunch with an astronaut and become a part of the long-lasting relationship with the space center that began when TFS students named the Space Shuttle Endeavor.
The sophomores travel to historic Charleston, South Carolina, to experience encounters with the past, the diverse culture, and the beautiful ecosystem.
TFS juniors toured various colleges and universities throughout the southeast. They visited public, private, large, and small institutions to get a feel for the best fit for them as they prepare to take the next steps on their educational journeys.
The seniors have the option to travel to places like New York or the Grand Canyon, as well as other choices such as a career exploration or an individual job shadowing experience.
In addition, we have a thriving athletic program that is a significant part of the life of the school. We have quality coaches, facilities, and equipment that give our athletes the best opportunity to compete. Every team strives to have a season of significance, with each athlete contributing to the life of the team.
Our primary objective is student success. That is why we have dedicated ourselves to student-based learning. Everyone on campus – faculty, staff and students – embraces a unified goal – creating excellence in academics and character as these are essential to their education, careers, and life endeavors.
