Indians of the Week for week ending January 9

The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of January 4-9) include Kyndal Anderson and Simeon Respress for high school, and LB Kafsky and Zach Freeman for middle school. PAST INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Kyndal Anderson - Basketball

High School Girl

Kyndal Anderson is our IOW. After being forced to miss a substantial portion of our early season in addition to the Christmas break, Kyndal has returned to the JV Girls Basketball lineup with passion. What has made her return seamless is her willingness to work on new aspects of her game and her openness to try new positions. In her most recent competition, Kyndal was called on to play the post, which she is not accustomed to playing. She accepted the opportunity with a great attitude, had a great week of practice, and finished the week with a great first game back this past Saturday. We look forward to seeing her continued progress over the next four years.

Simeon Respress - Basketball

High School Boy

Simeon Respress helped lead the Indians to two key early region play victories vs. Loganville Christian and Prince Avenue. Against Loganville Christian, Simeon was the top scorer for both teams totaling 17 points. Additionally, he tied the school record for charges in a game with 3. Over the two games, he also added 8 deflections and 6 steals in his great defensive effort.

LB Kafsky - Basketball

Middle School Girl

Being off almost a month makes returning to the gym a little difficult. In four days, the MS girls basketball team logged almost 40 miles of running, biking, drills, and rowing to prepare for the second half of the season. LB is a 6th grader that has come back after the break ready to work hard, get better, and she pushed through every single difficult task I asked of her. She finished in the top 3 in every drill. It takes determination and dedication to be successful and LB has both. I’m super proud she is a part of this team and I’m proud of her endless work ethic.

Zach Freeman - Basketball

Middle School Boy

This week's IOW is 8th grader Center Zach Freeman of Toccoa, GA. Zach is our most intense basketball player. Each day we receive a fierce competitor, hard worker and a strong defender. No matter how difficult the task Zach tackles it with a GREAT attitude while attacking it with 100% effort. He is extremely politile, selfless, and doesn't have a single grade under an "A".
