Coming down to the last hole of the state championship match Maggie Jackson made a great shot out of a fairway bunker to secured the tie with a two-putt. Maggie had a two-day total, three over par, 147 to finish 4th overall. She won the Area Championship and finished 4th in the state. We are so proud of Maggie and her consistent commitment to the TFS golf program and the prominent golfing respect she and her teammates have developed in the state of Georgia!

In the month of May, junior Macy Murdock was the runner-up in both hurdle races at the Area track & field meet and anchored both the 4x1 and 4x4 relay teams to qualify to the sectional meet. At the sectional meet, Macy qualified all four events to the state meet. Even in her first year of hurdling, at the Class A Private State Championships, Macy placed eighth in the 100m hurdles and set her personal record in the 300m hurdles to place fifth.  She also anchored season best and seventh place/podium performances in the 400m  and 1600m relays. Macy is poised, persistent, patient, and passionate; she is a wonderful teammate!

Senior Captain Grey Bourlet, who has competed at the season’s culminating meet all three years, scored 23 points by being the runner-up in the pole vault and 110m hurdles, third in the 300m hurdles, and running the fastest split on the 4x4 relay, which finished fifth. Also on the 4x4 were freshman Blair Moore, senior Simeon Respress, and junior Charlie Cody. In a private, cherished ceremony, Grey gave a special medallion to Brendon Vanderpool of Whitefield Academy, a sophomore who Grey felt could carry on the Class A PV heirloom, passed on by a senior vaulter to the “next up.”
