Indians of the Week: February 26-March 2

 
 

TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the week of February 26-March 2. This week's selections are Lily Desta and Sam Ketch for high school, and Emily Savage and Emmitt Likins for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Lily Desta - Soccer

Lily Desta has worked very hard since the start of the season to improve her game, skill, and technique. She is always a team player, positive, and adaptable. -coach Erin Jimenez

Sam Ketch - Track & Field

Senior Captain Sam Ketch twice broke his school record - set at the state meet last year - at the Jerry Arnold Challenge, heaving the platter 156-8 and 156-10 to place fourth at the meet and be presently ranked #1 in A-D1. Sam also threw the metal ball 44' 6 1/2 to place ninth at the meet and be ranked #1 in A-D1 with his penultimate best throw. Sam is a GREAT leader and collaborator with the team while demonstrating how to be confident and athletically inquisitive in the journey. He is respected and appreciated among his teammates in his quest to step higher on the state podium in May. -coach Scott Neal

Emily Savage - Soccer

Returning from last year's team, Captain Emily Savage has stepped up her game defensively for this year's team. Combined with her years of experience, level headedness, IQ and drive to be better makes her a tough defender. Emily is respected by her teammates and us coaches as she was voted Captain by players and coach is an example of what kind of person and athlete she is. She will have a bright future here at TFS and one I look forward to coaching her in. -coach Laura Higbie

Emmitt LikIns - Golf

Emmitt Likins is new to the program and has made a positive impact. His work ethic and positive manner embodies the "BE GREAT" motto.He has made some nice swings with his irons that has set him up for success. I look forward to watching him grow as a golfer and a person. -coach Jadie Hatcher
