Indians of the Week named for week ending October 10

The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of October 5-10) include Lucy Alexander and Zhigao Henrry Xiong for high school, and Keira Webb and Tanner Davis for middle school. PAST INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Lucy Alexander - Cross Country

High School Girl

Junior Captain Lucy Alexander has placed in the top ten in six of seven races this season, recently running 22:58.3 to place fourth out of 71 in the varsity race and fourth of 97 overall at the West Hall Invite. Lucy is the clear leader of the girl's team, consistently setting the standard in practice, at meets, and in-service (she is a Team Leader for the Harrier Harvest, creating the Senior Day festivities).

Zhigao Henrry Xiong - Cross Country

High School Boy

In addition to being named a TFS President's Ambassador this week, sophomore Zhigao Henrry Xiong ran a season-best, near personal record 20:30.70 at the West Hall Invite, finishing in the top 40%. Henrry has gradually improved throughout the season and had a stellar week of practice, pushing himself harder than ever before in hopes to be one of the team's scorers. Always a bundle of joy, Henrry provides so much life to the team, encouraging others with a sense of humor while being relentless at times.

Keira Webb - Tennis

Middle School Girl

Keira Webb is undefeated this season with a tennis record of 9-0. Keira plays at the #1 doubles level and puts everything she has into her best tennis play. She is sweet, kind and always has a smile on her face even during harsh moments. She has improved tremendously and will only get better for next year. I have thoroughly enjoyed her on this year's tennis team.

Tanner Davis - Tennis

Middle School Boy

Tanner Davis has lost only one match during this tennis season at the #1 singles position. His record is 8-1. His determination and eagerness to better himself has kept him at the highest ranking in the league. I am amazed at his confidence but yet has been grounded this whole season. I look forward to seeing this young man's tennis level in the future.
