TFS has named Indians of the Week for the week of December 13-18. This week's selections are Ava Wehrstein and Vlad Popescu for high school, and Charlotte Stafford and Ethan Wheeler for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Ava Wehrstein - Cheerleading
HS Girl
Ava Wehrstein has really stepped up trying to keep everyone focused when learning new dances and making sure the new girls know the cheers. She’s really been on top of things. -coach Kim Popham
Vlad Popescu - Basketball
HS Boy
Vlad Popescu continues to lead the TFS Boys' JV basketball team. Vlad's tenacious defense has earned him 7 steals over the last two games against Mount Paran and Pinecrest. Vlad also recorded 10 rebounds for the games. Vlad put up 18 points in the fewest minutes he's played in a game this season against Pinecrest. He followed that with 19 points the very next night against Mount Paran. -coach Matt Crotta
Charlotte Stafford - Basketball
MS Girl
The IOW for middle school girls basketball is Charlotte Stafford. Charlotte is new to the TFS basketball program. She is an incredibly motivated athlete who tries to improve every single game. She is aggressive, a fighter, and isn't afraid to mix things up when she needs to. She is a leader by example and is a great teammate. I have been blessed to see her transition from leading our tennis team, to watching her do the same for the basketball team. I appreciate her kindness and her willingness to listen and be instructed. Charlotte has a bright future ahead of her in athletics at TFS. -coach Jennifer Cox
Ethan Wheeler - Basketball
MS Boy
The MS Boys Basketball nomination for Indian of the Week is eighth-grader Ethan Wheeler. Ethan is new to our program this year, but his leadership has been evident since day one of tryouts. He gives his best effort every time he steps on the floor. In our one game this week, a big win over Summit Charter, in 13 minutes of play Ethan scored 11 points including draining his only three-point attempt and sinking all four free throws. He led the team with a +/- of 26 and also had three rebounds, three steals, and only one turnover. Ethan has been improving each week, and we look forward to what the second half of the season holds for him and the team. -coach Anthony Cox
