Indians of the Week: August 22-27
TFS has named the Indian of the Week for the week of August 22-27. This week's selections are Ashlyn Yaskiewicz and Timothy Beck for high school, and Ryleigh Wilson and Gavin Dodd for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Ashlyn Yaskiewicz - Volleyball (HS GIRL)
Ashlyn Yaskiewicz always gives her best at every practice. She is willing to sacrifice her body and get on the floor to save a ball in games and at practice. This past weekend she was called on to serve for her team which she usually does not do. She had a clutch performance never missing a serve, and getting her serve in on game point when the pressure was on. She ended up with the highest serve rating and second most aces when she only served for two out of the four matches. Great job Ashlyn. -coach Matt Heyl
Timothy Beck - Cross Country (HS BOY)
Sophomore Timothy Beck was not only the top TFS finisher at the inaugural Gorge To Beach eXperienCe, but he was also the Team Leader and why the meet was such a memory for the four teams attending. Timothy ran the 3k race in 10:40.37 to place fourth. He was the cog for the theme of the meet, which allowed all team participants to mingle while experiencing both Tallulah Gorge and Tallulah Beach prior to pizza and popsicles and a lake swim. Timothy is a GREAT example of influencing memorable significance. -coach Scott Neal
Ryleigh Wilson - Volleyball (MS GIRL)
Ryleigh Wilson is IOW for the girls. She consistently brings a serve game to the table that is top notch! Her receiving and communication with her teammates is well done. She has been a solid leader for the Lady Indians MS team, and has developed a habit of coming up with big plays on the court. -coach Jo Kimbrel
Gavin Dodd - Cross Country (MS BOY)
Even after a week in which he maturely worked through a slight injury, eighth grader Gavin Dodd placed 29th of 232 middle school harriers in a personal record two mile time of 13:19 at the North GA XC Championship twenty team meet. Gavin's 3:40 improvement on the same course from a year earlier reflects his narrowed focus, attention to training, and blossoming desire to see how good he can become. -coach Scott Neal
