Indians of the Week: March 20-25

TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the week of March 20-25. This week's selections are Julianne Shirley and Tanner Davis for high school, and Savana Owensby and Jack Greene for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Julianne Shirley - Track & Field

At the Battle of the Blue Ridge Invite at Habersham Central, junior Julianne Shirley placed 2nd in the high jump (5-0), first in the 400 in a season best 60.73 (#1 in region, #4 in A-D1, first in the 200 in a PR 27.27 (#2 in region, #11 in A-D1), and anchored the 4x4 in a season best (#1 in the region and #2 in A-D1). -coach Scott Neal

Tanner Davis - Tennis

Tanner has been dominant this season at the #1 Singles position, and he had two impressive victories this week versus Habersham and Jefferson. He has steadily improved from last year and continues to work hard to sharpen various aspects of his game. Tanner has also been a leader with his work ethic, especially in the latter half of this season. As a sensational sophomore, Tanner has a chance to have a very successful tennis career at TFS. -coach Anthony Cox

Savana Owensby - Soccer

Sixth grader Savana started her first-ever soccer season with the boldness to volunteer for our goalkeeper position. Since that day, Savana has embraced the challenge, and has exceeded all of my expectations. She has grown so much as an individual and a goalie. Her leadership and willingness to anchor the team has been incredibly impressive. She is coachable, reliable, and tenacious - the exact qualities that a team goalie would need to help us remain undefeated. She has only been scored on 6 times in 10 games. She’s had multiple clean sheet matches. Savana has a real future in goalkeeping at TFS and I can’t wait to see her succeed! -coach Laura Higbie

Jack Greene - Baseball

Jack personifies toughness. He thrives as the team's starting catcher, the toughest position in baseball. He plays without complaint and excels while doing so. This past week, Jack was asked to pitch and completed two, scoreless innings. Jack is a gamer who is exactly what we are looking for at TFS. -coach Dustin Rogers
