Cassidy Hayes & Landry Carnes - Tennis

The doubles pair of Cassidy Hayes and Landry Carnes has shown tremendous improvement over the last several weeks. In the round of 16 matchup last week versus Galloway, the doubles combo came away with a huge three-set win to help clinch the program's first-ever trip to the quarterfinals. After winning the first set and dropping the second set by a narrow margin, the duo fell behind 0-2 in the third set. After that, with fierce determination and focus, the girls won six straight to win in convincing fashion. We couldn't be more proud of Cassidy's and Landry's contribution to this team and program. -coach Anthony Cox

Ade Akisanya - Track

Sophomore Ade Akisanya is the Region 8-A D1 shot put champion!  With a 4' 4" PR heave (45' 3 - #5 TFS Legacy List) among multiple throws beyond his previous best, he took home the victor's medal after a 5h place discus PR throw of 119' 0 (TFS Legacy List #9). Ade puts in the work in the weight room, consistently focuses on the task at hand in practice, and has learned to believe in the process while staying confident in what he can accomplish. He is also an encouraging teammate who celebrates the accomplishments of others. -coach Scott Neal

LB Kafsky - Track

Eighth-grader Laurel Blake Kafsky, fresh off an undefeated soccer season, quickly integrated into the track & field team, practicing with focus, vision to succeed, confidence, and a wide range of skills. LB won the high jump (4' 3), triple jump (28' 5 1/2), placed second in the 100 meter hurdles, and third in the 300 meter hurdles to help TFS to the runner-up spot at the Tri-State Championship. A versatile athlete full of teamness, LB elevated the team with her poise and purposeful actions. -coach Scott Neal

Brian Neely - Track

Eighth-grader Brian Neely, a twice Boarding Student of the Month, previously set the middle school triple jump record at 37-7 and finished the season ranked #15 in the state among all middle schools, won the long and triple jumps and raced on the winning/school record setting 4x1 and 4x2 relays at the Tri State Championship. Brian's prowess helped the team win the banner for the 11th time in 12 years. Despite his accomplishments, Brian is an even GREATer teammate, always encouraging others to do their best, serving the team in any manner possible, and being an inspiring, positive voice and representative. -coach Scott Neal
