CARSYN GRIFFIS - CROSS COUNTRY
After a summer of swimming, running, and some weight training, freshman Carsyn Griffis ran her first 5K in a Shortline Trail time trial, then followed that up with a three-minute improvement at the NE GA XC Championships this weekend, placing 31st of 89 female varsity runners while moving up to the #3 team position and helping her Lady Indians place fourth of 12 teams. Carsyn's poise, internal goal setting, and positive outlook contribute to the life of her squad, and her quiet determination pushes her up hills, over dales, and past others even when sore and tired! -coach Scott Neal
TEAGAN PENLAND - CROSS COUNTRY
Freshman Teagan Penland cruised into the harrier season after a summer balancing higher-level swim preparation with distance running. He responds well to cross-training and multiple sports; swimming and distance running integrate together for better workouts and the recoveries needed. In his first varsity 5K race, he ran 19:33.19 at the NE GA XC Championships to place 25th out of 111 runners. Positive, focused, determined, and competitive, Teagan pushes #1 runner Timothy Beck to be better while pursuing his own goals to see how good he can be. -coach Scott Neal
LILLI WHITTLE - TENNIS
The Tennis Indian of the Week for the girls team is Lilli Whittle. Lilli has overcome some tough situations the past few practices. Since she is new to the tennis team, she has had to learn a lot in a short amount of time. She has worked hard to beat the nerves and enjoy playing the match. Each practice her serving gets better! We can't wait to see what Lilli will accomplish this year. -coach Anthony Cox
MAX PULLIAM - TENNIS
The Tennis Indian of the Week for the boys team is Max Pulliam. Max has been working so hard the first few weeks of practice. He has improved each day. Whenever he works with a doubles partner, he gives it his all. We can't wait to see what Max will accomplish this year. -coach Anthony Cox
