Indians of the Week named for week ending October 17

The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of October 5-10) include Katy Corbett and Austin Ball for high school, and Allison Bailey and Clay Kafsky for middle school. PAST INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Katy Corbett - Volleyball

High School Girl

Katy Corbett led her team this week in the Region Tournament with effort, energy, and determination. Katy showed her teammates and all spectators that she wanted to win more than anyone out there and showed it with her effort and sacrifice. She led both matches with the most kills and digs and took her team to the Region Championship for the third year in a row.

Austin Ball - Cross Country

High School Boy

Freshman Austin Ball had an exceptional week in cross country, running a course best 21:28.86 at the TFS Harrier Harvest XC Festival, then following that up with a personal record 19:11.43 at Athens Academy to place 12th of 45.  At AA, Austin moved up to #5 on the team with an intelligent race, 1:38 faster than he's ever run before for a 5k. The race demonstrated his competitive spirit and willingness to push through discomfort to help his team succeed.
