Tallulah Falls School Director of Security Dustin Rogers and officers Clint Carpenter and Casey Brown recently attended the Safety in our Schools Education and Prevention and Management Conference hosted by the Georgia Emergency Management Homeland Security Agency and the Georgia Department of Education. The conference was held in June in Athens.

During the conference, TFS personnel received training in active shooting, emergency responses to various scenarios, and bullying among other security-related topics.

In addition, Rogers attended Sports and Special Event Evacuation Training at the Georgia World Congress Center held in Atlanta.

This advanced training serves to provide continuing education for Carpenter and Brown as they are POST-certified, Rogers said.

“Attending the training and conference helps us become more knowledgeable about  the best practices we can bring to our campus to further our goal of providing the safest learning environment,” he said.
