In what has become a life-saving mission for the Tallulah Falls School community, the Interact Club hosted its annual blood drive on Sept. 20.

According to club sponsor TFS teacher Dallas Barron, hosting the American Red Cross Blood Drive at Tallulah Falls School each year is a wonderful experience.

“One day each year, students and staff come together to help save the lives of people they may never meet,” Barron said. “Donating blood is a selfless act and to see a successful drive year after year is inspiring.”

This year’s drive generated 30 pints of blood, Barron said, which has the potential of saving 90 lives.

This represents 28 faculty/staff and student donors, with two individuals giving “double” donations. Seventeen Interact members volunteered in rotating shifts throughout the day.

Interact is a club affiliated with Rotary International for young people ages 12-18 who want to tackle important community issues.
