On a brilliant blue sky day, Tallulah Falls School officially dedicated its new Student Activity Center located on the campus of the middle school.

The entire student body, faculty and staff, board of trustees members and special guests gathered in the expansive multipurpose facility on Sept. 21 to witness the ceremonial opening.

In addition to an expansive gymnasium, the more than $6 million facility features classrooms, performance stage, state-of-the art sound and digital display systems,  concession area, 3-lane walking track, rock climbing wall, fitness center and several outdoor gathering areas, including a fire pit and a ceremonial bell.

During the program, President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy noted the work of Architect George Hlavenka and Ron Cantrell of Ron Cantrell Construction, Inc. as well as recognizing all stakeholder groups present, including students, faculty/staff, parents/grandparents, board members, elected officials and chamber members.

Three ribbons were cut to commemorate the milestone for the school – TFS Board of Trustees, Habersham County Chamber of Commerce and Rabun County Chamber of Commerce.

“We had an outstanding celebration today,” Peevy said. “It was wonderful to see the entire TFS family in the new space to share this moment in the history of our school.”
