TFS coaches select Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have named four Indians of the Week for the week of October 3-8.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth grader Andrew Kivett of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by middle school coed soccer coach Zac Roland. “Andrew missed a few weeks due to injury, however he never missed a practice or game. He stayed actively involved the whole time by helping with drills and encouraging his teammates from the sideline,” Roland said. “Once he came back, he scored both goals, and came very close on several other attempts in a comeback effort that came just short. Andrew also worked for three hours in the rain during the finals match, running the balls, preparing bags for the two teams, and running a half time event for kids.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh grader Lucy Alexander of Sautee-Nacoochee was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school cross country coach Scott Neal. “Lucy, who is team captain, significantly improved her 3K TFS farm course time while running a personal record 13:52 as the runner-up at the Tri State middle school cross country championships,” Neal said. “Her time places her 22nd of all middle school harriers to ever run the TFS course.  Lucy leads the team in so many areas; she trains to succeed while setting teammates above self.  Not just willing to help, Lucy is the one who seeks ways to make the team and the program excellent.”

VARSITY BOY

Varsity cross country coach Scott Neal also selected junior Ben Griswold of Demorest as an Indian of the Week. “Ben persevered through injuries this season to run a season best at the Mountain Invite in 23:49,” Neal said.  “Though not the best time in his three-year career, it is indicative of an athlete working diligently to come back from injury, similar to the same attitude he has displayed this year to contribute in the smallest of ways to elevate his team.”

VARSITY GIRL

Varsity Volleyball coach Allen Campbell named junior Anna Davis of Clarkesville as an Indian of the Week. “Anna displayed exceptional play in our recent tournaments where she was second in almost every statistical category,” Campbell said. “She showed great enthusiasm and heart.”
