TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for April 16-21.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh-grader Nelson Wilkinson of Cleveland was selected as an Indian of the Week by track & field coach Scott Neal.  “In addition to running the fastest leg on the runner-up 4x1 and victorious 4x4 relay teams, Nelson won the shot put, discus and 200 meters at the Tri-State Track & Field championship,” said Neal. “Nelson scored the most possible points at the meet, 20.5. He has been the top scoring middle school boy all season, a competitor learning the value of team above self.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Lucy Alexander of Sautee-Nacoochee was named an Indian of the Week by track & field coach Scott Neal. “Lucy set the middle school girls 1600 meter record with a time of 6:09.8,” said Neal. “She also placed second in the high jump and earned a number two spot on the TFS middle school legacy list with a jump of 4’-5” at the Tri-State Track & Field championship. Lucy also ran the best split on the ‘B’ team 4 x 4 relay. She is a team leader who practices diligently to improve while setting team goals above her own.”

VARSITY GIRL
Junior Cynthia Jackson of Clayton was named an Indian of the Week by varsity girls’ soccer coach Whitney Calloway. “Cynthia has been a strong part of our defense all season long,” said Calloway. “Off the field, she is often overshadowed by other players loud personalities, but on the field, she always ends up where she needs to be to defend our goal. Cynthia puts forth maximum effort in practice and in games and never complains. She is a great asset to our team.”

VARSITY BOY

Junior Gage Webb of Clayton was named an Indian of the Week by varsity baseball coach Mark Wilcox. “Gage had a great week to end the season,” said Wilcox. “He led the team in hitting for the week and the season as well as picking up the win on the mound in the season finale versus Washington-Wilkes.”
