MS basketball splits with River Christian

 
 

The MS basketball teams split with River Christian at home Thursday evening to kick off the 2024 portion of the schedule. The Lady Indians lost 39-29 while the boys picked up a 54-4 victory.

The girls were paced by Linda White and Handley James, who both put up nine points. After being down one at the break, turnovers were costly in the second half.

The Indians were dominant throughout. Asa Popham led with 13 points, while Brantley Addison had 12 points in a big performance in the paint. Ethan Phasavang and Noah Randall had eight points apiece, Emmanuel Heyl added seven, West Ridlehoover four, and Woods Irvin two.

The Lady Indians drop to 5-4 overall, while the Indians are now 6-3. Both teams, along with the boys' B-Team, take on Habersham on Friday.
