Indians of the Week: January 1-6

 
 

TFS has named the Indians of the Week for the week of January 1-6. This week's selection are Breelyn Wood and Zakhar Valasiuk for high school, and Elizabeth Stafford and Brody Dampier for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Breelyn Wood - Basketball

Bree's stats for her last 5 games are 33% FG,67% FT,16.2 PTS,5.8 RBS, and 1.4 ASST, leading the team in points scored. However, she played big last week against LCA, dropping a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks in the win. -coach Lowell Hamilton

Zakhar Valasiuk - Basketball

Zakhar Valaziuk tied the school record for charges in a game with 4 against Lanier Christian. Additionally, he also contributed 14 points. -coach Cody Coleman

ELIZABETH STAFFORD - SWIMMING

Elizabeth Stafford had a great meet at our Ahoy Me Hearties Middle School Invitational on Friday evening. She swam a personal best time in her 50 freestyle and dropped an incredible six seconds in her 100 freestyle placing 1st in that event. Elizabeth has had a great culminating season to her middle school career consistently dropping time at each meet. We are excited to see her performance at the upcoming Middle School Championships and GIAA state meet at the end of the month. -coach Tamara Griffis

BRODY DAMPIER - SWIMMING 

Brody Dampier is a first year swimmer for our middle school team and he has consistently dropped times in all his events throughout the season. His hard work and persistence during the break paid off at our Ahoy Me Hearties Invitational Friday evening. He swam a personal best time in the 50 freestyle dropping over a whole second and  placing 4th overall. He now sits at sub 30 seconds which is a huge milestone for middle school swimmers. He also swam a personal best time in the 50 backstroke placing 3rd overall. -coach Tamara Griffis
