carsyn griffis - swimming

Carsyn Griffis is a second-year varsity swimmer. This past weekend at the Water Warrior Invite, she had two top-5 finishes. She finished 3rd in the 100 Backstroke and 5th in the 100 Butterfly (also a personal best time). She helped lead her team to a 4th-place overall finish out of 12 teams. Carsyn works hard day in and day out and her perseverance has paid off this season having already qualified in two individual state cuts (100 Free and 100 Back). We look forward to her performances throughout the remainder of the season and the GHSA state meet in February. -coach Tamara Griffis

teagan penland - swimming

Teagain Penland is a freshman on our varsity squad and is a solid performer. This weekend at the Water Warrior Invite, he swam a personal best time in the 100 Freestyle and helped lead his 200 Medley Relay team to a 3rd-place finish. Teagan is a dedicated athlete coming off cross country season straight into swimming. Making the transition from middle school to high school swim is tough with longer distances and tougher practices but Teagan has a strong work ethic and has managed the extra yardage well. -coach Tamara Griffis

Mia Kerr - Basketball

Mia has been a key component to our defense. She typically guards the best player on the other team and does so without a break. This week, she kept Summit Charter's leading scorer to 13 points and Town's County's leading scorer to 8 points. She's coachable and understands her role. She has a great work ethic, attitude, and team first mindset. She is such an asset to our team and I'm proud of the way she has been playing. Way to go, Mia! -coach Jenny Long

Lincoln Hicks - Basketball

Lincoln put up a great week on the court for the Indians this week. In a rivalry matchup with Habersham County, Lincoln put together his best game of the season. Dropping 13pts, 7 Rebounds, and 3 steals in the game. Lincoln has grown so much this season on and off the court. He has been a joy to coach, and have in the classroom. -coach Nathan Stanley
