aVA Carnes / Charlotte Stafford - Tennis

The girls' tennis nominee for Indian of the Week is the first doubles combo of sophomores Ava Carnes and Charlotte Stafford. Facing two tough opponents in Jefferson and at Galloway, Ava and Charlotte stared down the competition and won in third-set tiebreaks in both matches with the pressure on and everyone watching. The duo has grown together as partners and both are becoming outstanding doubles players with their focus and determination in practice and in matches. The coaches count on them for consistency and competitiveness, and we saw both things this week. -coach Anthony Cox

Rohajae Pinder - Baseball

Senior Rohajae Pinder had a great start to the season, batting .556 with three doubles, six RBI, three walks, a hit by pitch, and stole a base to help the Indians start out 3-1 on the season. -coach Justin Pollock

Lily Denard - Track & Field

Sixth grader Lily Denard comes to practice every day with a genuine desire to improve, to confidently pursue excellence, to focus on the task at hand, to bring a determined gusto to overcome discomfort, and to be an encouragement to others. She listens attentively, actively treats teammates with respect and kindness, and relentlessly runs with a passion. Her poise under pressure is admirable, as is her desire to Be GREAT! -coach Scott Neal

Fenn NeSmith - Baseball

Fenn comes to practice every day with a 'team over we' attitude that is a great welcome so far this season. Even after sliding into second and coming off with an injury, Fenn exhibited this behavior by wanting to stay in the game and not let his team or coach down. This is a great example of being tough but truly shows our motto of 'team over we' this season. I hope he returns soon and continues his 'team over we' attitude and grows in the game. -coach Kyle Dampier
