TFS coaches name Indians of the Week for April 8-13

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for April 8-13.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh-grader Tessa Foor of Cleveland was named an Indian of the Week by middle school soccer coach Travis Mullis. “Tessa is a competent player with many spring and fall seasons of training since she was young,” Mullis said. “She can play multiple positions on the field. She is also helpful to her coaches and teammates. She also has a fun spirit that leads to a willingness to support those around her. If something needs to be done you can count on Tessa. Finally, she has a real passion for soccer and plays with a ferocity that drives her and the team to greatness.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Sixth-grader Everett VanOrman of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by middle school track & field coach Scott Neal. “Everett has come on strong in the last two weeks, pushing himself to better distance times and competitive placing,” Neal said. “His refocused efforts and determination for improved training to result in enhanced results have helped Everett begin to reach goals, set new ones and work even smarter to achieve new fitness levels. He displays a joy of running that is contagious.”

VARSITY GIRL

Freshman Macy Murdock of Carnesville was selected as an Indian of the Month by varsity track & field coach Scott Neal. “Macy performed well in two successive day meets and had a breakthrough in the long jump when jumping three times above her previous best,” Neal said. “Macy won the 400-meter at both the Rabun County tri-meet and the Commerce dual meet while also helping the 4x1 and 4x4 relay teams to victory on both meets. Macy is dedicated, determined and dependable.”

VARSITY BOY

Senior Caleb Griffis of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by varsity track & field coach Scott Neal. “Caleb showed what can be done with intense motivation, stringent focus and an unquenchable desire to finish strong,” Neal said. “He suffered an injury that kept him out for a couple of weeks but that did not deter him from intensifying his focus on what he could do to come back even stronger. Caleb came back to get within seven feet from his discus personal record, then set a new personal record the next day. Caleb is tough, centered and confident.”
