TFS Lady Indians defeat Atlanta International SchoolÂ
The Tallulah Falls School varsity girls’ basketball team nabbed a 50-42 home win over Atlanta International on Saturday, Dec. 7, when it was also Military Appreciation Night.
During Tallulah Falls School’s second annual Military Appreciation Night, TFS honored BMC Craig Carlan, father of junior Abby and seventh-grader Jackson Carlan of Baldwin, for his service in the U.S. Coast Guard and for his commitment to TFS.
Junior Katy Corbett of Lakemont set a new single-game program record for made 3-pointers in the win, drilling six 3-pointers on 59 percent shooting from deep.
She also added three assists and four steals, according to coach Brandy Corbett.
Freshman Denika Lightbourne of the Bahamas chipped in 11 points, pulled down eight rebounds, and ran away with four steals in her first official home game.
Freshman Veronaye Charlton of the Bahamas contributed nine points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and nine deflections.
The Lady Indians return to action Tuesday night in Fairburn as they travel to play the War Eagles of Landmark Christian, who they defeated 67-44 earlier this season.
They will finish the week Friday evening as TFS will honor three new Athletic Legends Hall of Honor inductees, against Highlands of North Carolina.
TFS Alumni Night kicks off Dec. 13, with JV action starting at 4:30 pm.
