TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected Indian Athletes of the Week for Jan. 27 - Feb. 1.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Sixth-grader Emma Arden of Clarkesville was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school girls basketball coach Sharea Long. “Emma has shown great growth throughout our season,” Long said. “After the victorious championship game, she displayed great team spirit. Although her minutes are limited, she had high emotions for the victory and work ethic of her teammates. She has truly bought into the team concept.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Eli Damron of Tiger was named an Indian of the Week by middle school boys basketball coach Tom Tilley. “Eli is an extremely hard-working, selfless leader who sets the example for the entire team,” Tilley said. “I don’t think I’ve ever coached a student who demonstrates more class than Eli. He had a fabulous fourth quarter against a formidable team in the Tri-State championship game, scoring seven unanswered points.”

VARSITY GIRL

Freshman Kate Trotter of Demorest was named an Indian of the Week by swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Kate constantly arrives to practice armed with a positive attitude and determination to improve her swimming technique,” Nichols said. “She improved her 100-yard freestyle time by almost two seconds at the 1A championships last week at Riverside Military Academy.”

VARSITY BOY

Freshman Nelson Wilkinson of Cleveland was selected as an Indian of the Week by swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Nelson has shown consistent improvement this season in his swims,” Nichols said. “He is never afraid to take on the challenge of a new event and fully embraces a positive outlook on the new challenges. Nelson’s improvement continued at the 1A championships at Riverside Military Academy when he dropped almost three seconds in his 100-yard freestyle.”
