Indians of the Week for week ending September 12
The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of September 7-12) include Allie Dalton and Charlie Cody for high school, and Chesney Tanksley and Conner Spink for middle school. Allie Dalton - Volleyball
High School Girl
Allie Dalton has been getting better each week of this season. But this week was her biggest step yet. Her speed to run down the ball along with her ever-improving setting skill has proved to be invaluable this last week and the five-game win streak we went on. She is working hard every day and putting all she can into making herself better so her team can be better.

Charlie Cody - Cross Country
High School Boy
In his first two 5k races on the varsity cross country team, newcomer Charlie Cody broke 21 minutes, then 20 minutes to move up to #3 on the team. He is quickly adding to the team's goal of qualifying to and advancing beyond last year's state championship momentum. Charlie brings humor, balance, and a growing understanding of the nuances of being a contributing harrier. Charlie even broke into the top 30 of the TFS XC Legacy List!

Chesney Tanksley - Volleyball
Middle School Girl
This week we would like to recognize Chesney Tanksley. Chesney has been a key player since day one in this program. Chesney hustles on the court and is always ready to put to use any help being offered to her from her coaches. Chesney starts every game day out with a motivational text to her teammates and is always giving her best. She is a wonderful asset to this team and we have loved watching her grow as an athlete.

Conner Spink - Cross Country
Middle School Boy
Sixth grader Conner Spink had the best improvement of any TFS boy between Tuesday's Cookies 'n Quotes and Saturday's Pridelands Invite, both 3k races, running 21:40 in the former and 17:54 in the latter. As he pushes himself more each practice, he is gaining a better understanding of running at appropriate paces, pushing beyond discomfort, and utilizing competition as motivation.
