Indians of the Week for week ending March 6

The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of March 1-6) include Lucy Alexander and David Rodriguez Moreno for high school, and Sarah Lundy and Will Greene for middle school. PAST INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Lucy Alexander - Track & Field

High School Girl

TFS female athlete of the meet and team captain Lucy Alexander broke Tessa Rutledge’s 21 year old 3200m record by 19 seconds, running 12:44.70 to place 13th at the Jerry Arnold Challenge at Mill Creek HS. She also knocked off 13 seconds from her 1600m PR (and moved to #2 on the TFS Legacy List) to place 12th. Lucy is an influential leader whose encouragement, accountability, communication, and lead-by-example role modeling contributes significantly to the team in all aspects.

David Rodriguez Moreno - Soccer

High School Boy

Since David Rodriguez Moreno has joined the team from basketball, he has shown tremendous leadership, skill, and encouragement. He is constantly vocal throughout the game, providing instruction on the field and helping the younger players on the team make the right decisions, while encouraging them. These attributes, along with jovial yet focused attitude in training, have no doubt helped him score one goal, tally two assists, and contribute to one clean sheet in three games this week.

Sarah Lundy - Soccer

Middle School Girl

Sarah is consistently proving to be a solid defensive player for the middle school girls team. She is dependable and coachable, and always gives it 100%. She knows when she makes a mistake and is quick to correct herself with a great attitude towards making it right the next time. She has a very mature work ethic and a hugely contagious smile. The team will always benefit from having her on and off the field. Way to go Sarah!

Will Greene - Baseball

Middle School Boy

Will Greene plays the most difficult position in baseball, catcher. The position calls for a tough player who does not mind getting dirty and allowing the ball to hit them in every conceivable area of their body. His defense has been instrumental in our 2-0 start as he has saved countless runs from being scored on wild pitches. He expects no accolades and continues to play with a toughness and drive that has rubbed off on other players.
