Middle school golf competed in junior-senior golf tournament

The TFS MS golf team on Monday hosted a junior-senior golf tournament at The Orchard Golf Course. The 9-hole event was a two-person scramble where both players tee off, and the better drive was chosen from the two players. The two-man team played the ball out until the hole was complete.

There was a 3-way-tie for 1st place with a +4 round of 40. The tie was decided by taking a score of the number 1 handicap hole, number 5 at the Orchard. Eighth-grader Madeline Martin and father Mike Martin earned the first place title. Seventh-grader Hunter Bell and his uncle Pat Shutt earned the 2nd place title, while Kalvin Ngov and William Satterfield earned 3rd place.

"This was a fun event for all players and their families," says coach Hannah Satterfield. "The middle school golf team had a great season, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth of these young golfers. Not only have the players improved their skills, but have developed great relationships as they are a part of a greater golf community. I would like to thank the staff at the Orchard Golf Course, head pro Randy Brooks and assistant pro Roger Cherico for their continued support of these junior golfers."
