Indians of the Week for week ending May 1

The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of April 26-May 1) include Macy Murdock and Grey Bourlet for high school and Jace Ibemere and Jason Bard for middle school. PAST INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Macy Murdock - Track & Field

High School Girl

Junior Team Leader Macy Murdock ran personal record runner-up finishes in the 100m hurdles (Class A-Pvt #5 time, TFS Legacy List #3) and 300m hurdles (Class A-Pvt # and TFS Legacy List #3) at the Class A Area 6 Track & Field Championships. She also anchored the 4x1 (school Legacy List #6) and 4x4 (Legacy List #4) relays to season-best performances to advance to next week's Class A Private Section 2 meet. After last season was cut short, Macy strengthened her goal to compete in college by teaching herself to hurdle and is now one of the best in our classification. She is determined to break through barriers, explore how good she can be, and pursue her goals with no excuses - definitely a GREAT role model!

Grey Bourlet - Track & Field

High School Boy

Senior Captain Grey Bourlet and junior Captain Evan Prince (800m, 1600m, 3200m, 4x8 relay) both scored 32.5 points to earn the Class A-Private Area 6 High Point Award. Grey gets the nod for the IOW nomination because his victorious pole vault PR clearance of 13' 6 sits atop our classification and is #26 in the entire state across all eight classifications and nearly 600 vaulters. He won the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles and anchored the victorious 4x4 relay to a season-best (and #4 TFS Legacy List) to seal the first Area T&F Championship in school history. Grey's poise, purpose, performances, and positive outlook lead the team's ever-growing competitive culture.

Jace Ibemere - Track & Field

Middle School Girl

Eighth grader Jace Ibemer won the long jump, triple jump, and 100m, in addition to the 400m relay and 1600m relay at the 2021 Tri State Track & Field Championship, leading her team to the ninth overall victory in the last decade. Jace hones her craft outside of practice, getting stronger and more powerful in the weight room while also pursuing the kind of confidence that successful people display. She is a treasure at TFS!

Jason Bard - Track & Field

Middle School Boy

Eighth grader Jason Bard, who also competed on the highly successful boys soccer team and ran his personal record 1600m the week before at the Middle School State Championship, won both the shot put and discus, was the 1600m runner-up, and led the winning 4x4 and runner-up 4x1 relays to scoring points. Jason is a persistent communicator, a dedicated athlete, and a delight to coach.
