JV beats Elbert, BASA to reach a dozen straight wins

 
 

The JV Lady Indians won at home on Tuesday evening over Elbert County and Barrow Arts & Sciences Academy, running their current win streak to 12 in a row.

The Lady Indians had a hard-fought battle against Elbert, eventually winning 2-0. The first set was a back-and-forth battle, with no team taking more than 2-point lead throughout the set. However, TFS was able to come out on top, and edged out a win 26-24. In the second set, the Lady Indians jumped out to an 8-2 lead early. TFS held on to the lead the rest of the match, winning 25-17.

"We began with very low energy, but we rallied and had a great second set with lots of great saves," says coach Rebekah Jennings. "Shelby Whisnant and Ryleigh Wilson won some great jousts as well."

The Lady Indians kept the momentum with a 25-18 set against BASA before polishing it off with a 25-15 win.

"We had an exceptional game with lots of saves and energy," adds Jennings. "Ca'Rin Swinton had an amazing serving game!"

TFS is 15-6 overall and 9-0 in area play.
