Lady Indians march into area title game after win over Rabun

The Lady Indians hosted Rabun County on Thursday evening in the Area semifinals. TFS battled hard and won the game 3-0.

In the first set, TFS jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back, never giving up the lead. A kill by Katarina Foskey gave Tallulah a 20-8 lead and TFS kept that momentum going on to win the set 25-8.

Set two started with Rabun County showing a spark, taking an early 3-2 lead. Another kill by Foskey, however, tied the set up. The Lady Indians capitalized on that momentum, jumping out to a 15-3 lead. Tallulah took a 20-7 lead late in the game and another kill by Foskey ended the set 25-11.

The third set started off as a back-and-forth battle with Rabun County taking an early 10-6 lead. Rabun kept the momentum going, maintaining a 15-11 lead midway through the game. A kill by Addy McCoy gave the Lady Indians a spark, and they clawed back to tie the game at 17 all, with the match-tying point being another kill from McCoy. TFS kept it going, taking a 19-17 lead, but Rabun quickly came back and tied it at 19-all. The match went back and forth, until late in the game, it was all tied up again at 23 apiece. Another kill by Foskey gave the Lady Indians a 1-point lead and then Foskey put the nail in the coffin with yet another kill, winning the match 25-23, and the series 3-0.

The #4-ranked Lady Indians are now on a 12-match win streak, which is a school record. TFS is 28-13 overall, and will play at home in the Area Championship on Saturday.
